Cindy Eyler Wonder is a black Lab mix Cindy found in 2000 when he was 5-6 weeks old. He’d been sold out of the back of a car in Baltimore the night before to a teenager for $20. By the next afternoon, with no food in the interim, he had lost the use of his rear legs. He could still drag himself to greet me, though, and a little food had those legs working just fine by the time we got to the vet’s office. Wonder’s first Dock Dogs event was the Delmarva Autumn Splash in November 2007. He very reluctantly jumped one time (4’6") and thereafter decided that it was just no fun leaping into that very cold water. This year he’s started out a bit better, with 13’1" as his best jump at Puppypalooza, where he earned a Regional Junior Title. [He also earned a ‘title’ as the slowest dog to, finally, get out of the water.]
Wonder has been a Pets On Wheels volunteer at a Baltimore nursing home, and he’s in training for Rally Obedience. His best buddy, besides Mom, is Jujube, a pitbull-mix whom Cindy also found on the street.
