Our "Keepsake AK Brawler Philo Beddoe" is a yellow, male Labrador Retriever born January 1, 2007 in Renfrew, PA. He is named after the Clint Eastwood character in the movies "Every Which Wave But Loose" and "Any Which Way You Can".
As a little pup, Philo would run and hop into our 1/2 acre pond from the waters' edge. As Philo grew, his hops became jumps which then became full out dives from the shoreline. Over the winter of 2008 we saw the show "DockDogs" on the Outdoor Channel and decided to give it a try.
Our first event was "Care-A-Lot" at Virginia Beach, VA in May 2008. Philo jumped 14' 11" to win 1st Place of the Junior Division of his very first wave ever. We were hooked! Since then we have attended an average of 1 event per month. The support and friendships we have received since becoming involved in DockDogs is beyond compare! Life just doesn't get much better than DockDogs!
