Chesapeake, VA - October 5 - October 7, 2007 - What an amazing weekend overall for the Chesapeake DockDogs Club.  From every single club member making it into the finals, to Mishka's first EV grab, to Daisy Lou's and Finley's 1st Place finishes in the finals, everyone had a great weekend.  Even the heat and humidity of the weekend couldn't diminish the smiles and cheers.

After two misses in practice, Brian Rutledge & Mishka made their very first EV grab of 5' earning their EV Cadet Title.  Going up every two inches Mishka grabbed 5' 10" for a 2nd Place finish in EV.  Everyone, especially Thunder who wanted to play Top Gun with Mishka, was cheering for him to grab that 6' bumper but after three waves and five EV grabs, he was just wore out but still barely missed.  Mishka and Thunder are looking forward to their next EV competition in November.

In the Amateur Finals, with cheers sounding in the background, Carly Keane & Lil' Miss Daisy Lou jumped into a 1st Place finish and a NEW Personal Best of 18' 4".  This was also the very first time they got into the top four of a National Final.  This event was packed with "first times" for club members.  Rhonda Schenk & Amazing Grace jumped 15' 2"  for a 9th Place Amateur Finish - their very first National Final.  Another first on the dock - Rhonda being brave enough to start belting out Amazing Grace after Jevin dared her to.

After a really good weekend of several 24' plus jumps, Scott Whiteley & Finley jumped to a 1st Place Pro finish with a 25' 4" jump triumphing over the "Dukes and Duchess of Yorktown".  With consistent Master and Elite jumps, Duke (dad), Chase (son), and Reed (daughter) challenged Finley to "Jump Big" over the weekend.  Our Junior Handler, Robert Locher & Sandy, also had a great weekend competing in the Pro Finals and finishing in 7th Place with a 18' 3" jump.

A great BIG Thank You to Randy & Kelley Hall for hosting the BBQ on Saturday night.  The dogs thought they were in heaven jumping in and out of the inground pool and running around playing together until they were exhausted.  Wags and kisses for having so much fun go out to their hosts, Gunnie & Caliber.  The food was yummy and the company was great.  From DockDogs staff, to Keystone and Delmarva members, to brand new competitors fun was had by all.
